Bondax, from Lancaster to your Sweetest ears:
Bondax – Just Us
Thanks to five-star recommendations from our Facebook group (as well as working with top-notch indie labels/artist mgmt), I feel we’ve been properly introduced to some of Bass Music’s rising crème de la crème: Bobby Champs, Lapalux, Disclosure, Kidnap Kid, and now Bondax.
Post-dubstep, future garage, UK funky, acid house — it don’t matter whuuuut u wawna call it. Truth is, whenever I’m relaxing on the post-whatever hammock, I let music get all inside my ears. Bondax’s synthylicious subtleties and percolating percussions never fail to get me in the mood for my kind of eeeeeeeeeeeasy listening.
Bondax – All Inside
George Townsend and Adam Kaye are Bondax,
and like other the featured UK gentlemen producers/DJs on Sweetest Drip, they’ve developed a voice beyond their years when it comes to composing music that represents “Just Us.” Attributing their musical eccentricity to the Internet age, it’s hard to imagine making heartfelt beats in the era of copy/paste/throw-money-at-it. George puts it this way in Truancy, Volume 38:
Every time I see anything about us online I see the words ‘future garage’ or ‘post-dubstep’ but really we never had any intention of making those things. We just fell into that kind of sound. But we’re young, we’re still working out what we wanna make. Our music is just all about happiness at the moment really!
Bondax feat. Dee – Only You Know
Bondax has much to experience as they’re just closing out their teenage years, yet they consistently release unique grooves beyond fledgling production value. They’re already catching the attention of web/IRL music press, renowned DJs, and like-minded brothers-in-beats, Disclosure. In addition to playing at a massive three-day festival alongside UK bass music headliners a la Rusko and Toddla T, Bondax received major props from Star Slinger who hooked them up with a set at the first JET JAM residency in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
So a month ago I posted the first JET JAM mixtape. Since then I have been thinking of who to invite to the first JET JAM club night… Then 1 night before I played a one-off show in Washington DC, I received a promo from one of my favourite discoveries this year. The teenage duo BONDAX. George and Adam are 18 & 17 years old and have been producing some of the most uplifting bass music I’ve heard in ages.
