Simply Trill: August 20, 2012

Yung Drip is back with more of those Sweetest recommendations that make your week much more slicker. We usually have a smooth-ish indie playlist to get you comfy for a potentially grueling week at the grind, but things have been Simply Trill for us lately and we always want to share these #positive vibes.

Come to Sweetest Drip, for we are that lap you rest your head upon when you wanna feel xxxtra luxurious lovin’. We comfort any and all trying to escape the sting of a whip brandished by whatever rotten asshole slave-driver who tries to run your life for you.

We know you werk hard every day, just tryna take the glorious path towards fulfilling personal goals. The fact you’re reading this tells me you’re ready and willing to BE YO OWN BO$$.

01. Gwen Stefani – Luxurious (VΞRACOM’z Egyptian Cotton C&S)

Veracom’s THUG HUG was another unexpected discovery for me this weekend. I get these feelin’ down spells and in the pursuit of contributing less bitching to the world I self-medicate with trillities like this chopped and screwed edit of Luxurious by the lovely Gwen Stefani.

I mean GOT DAYUM, if only I had this track under my belt two months ago…

02. KJDREAYSHAWN – YOKO – TWEET OTHERS HOW U WANT 2 B TWEETED

I haven’t had a girlfriend/buck fuddy in way too long but seriously, forget that noise. All ya need is inspiration from sweet yung bbs like KJDREAYSHAWN to get thru da dark ages and into the Renaissance of yo dreamz.

From one aspiring Renaissance Mane to another, lemme tell you that most significant others are the YOKO to your BEATLES so fuck em and leave em unless you relly fel dat dey da one. And even then, live and learn and you’ll become trill in turn ♥

It’s tough but I know u got da stuff.

03. Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones – FADER MoMA PS1 Warm Up Mix

Damn all this sexy talk’s got me sweaty like a Barcelonian summer spent siesta-ing between da sheets, or werkin’ on future beats in the case of top-DJ-love-duo Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones. They’re a testament to the fact that not all trap/whatever-u-wanna-call-it music sounds the same. Keep in mind this is just a warm up for FADER’s MoMA PS1 series of mixtapes.  They’re far from uninspired and their creative energies combined will show you the meaning of t r i l l aaaaaaaa.

04. WALMER CONVENIENCE AND FUTUROBEAT PRESENT: TRVP COMP

Music blogs like WALMER CONVENIENCEFuturoBeat, and yours truly strive to hold the line for all the yung stunnaz trying to find themselves in the big bad world by purveying tracks and mixes that dare to break the norm. When you tire of mass-produced slop, look to the artists who work hard to fine-tune new grooves fo yo dance shoes.

05. TNGHT – The Full Uncensored Mix

I’ll leave this one to the fans (via SoundCloud comments):

  • “been on this real Shit bout time real moves are being made big ups mozt propa”
  • “this mix is the definition of fire, you guys are going far. perfect song choices and transitions.”
  • “LUH U! THX!”
